After hotel check-in and lunch, in the afternoon, we’ll begin our trip with visiting the Temple of Heaven – a masterpiece of architecture and landscape design where the ancient emperors used to pray for the God’s blessing of the whole nation. Here you’ll find The Sacred Road (“the way leading to Heaven”). In ancient China, the Emperor of China was regarded as the “Son of Heaven”, who administered earthly matters on behalf of the heavenly authority. Thus, The Sacred Road is believed as the path that leads to Heaven, which is guarded on both sides with 12 stone statues. The Temple of Heaven was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage in 1998. The Forbidden City is listed by UNESCO as the largest collection of preserved ancient wooden structures in the world and was declared a World Heritage site in 1987.
