The Maldives is the smallest country in Asia, located in the eastern Arabian Sea, world-renowned as a premier luxury destination famous for its overwater bungalows and vibrant white-sand beaches. Located in the Indian Ocean, it is recognized for crystal-clear turquoise waters, exceptional snorkeling and romantic, private island resorts.

The pint-sized Maldivian capital is the throbbing, mercantile heart of the nation, a densely crowded and fascinating place, notable mainly for its stark contrast to the laid-back pace of island life elsewhere in the country. We stay at Maldives Centara Fushi Resort Spa for 3 nights.

Day 04: Maldives (B/L/D)

Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives – set on a pristine island blessed with tropical beauty in North Malé Atoll. Day 06: Maldives - Colombo - Negombo (B/D)

After arriving at Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. Transfer to Negombo, is one of Sri Lanka’s most popular resorts. Beyond its sands lies an interesting mix: a colonial-built canal and crumbled fort; a lively fish market, traditional fishing communities, and a wildlife-rich lagoon.

Day 07: Negombo - Dambulla - Kandalama (B/L/D)

After a gourmet breakfast at the hotel, start your journey in the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka with a visit the Dambulla Cave temple, was built in about 80BC It is the largest and best-preserved cave temple in Sri Lanka. Inside are 153 Buddha statues in various reposes, three statues of ancient kings, and four other statues including those of Vishnu and Ganesh. The ceiling and walls have been repainted over the centuries containing a juxtapose of imagery including those of royal life.

Continue to Kandalama, is a village in Sri Lanka’s Central Province, famous for the scenic Kandalama Reservoir. Birdwatchers will delight in the chance to spot a variety of bird species, including waterfowl, storks. Staying 2 nights the iconic eco-friendly Kandalama hotel 5stars. It serves as a gateway to the Cultural Triangle, offering proximity to Sigiriya and Dambulla cave temples. Day 08: Kandalama - Anuradhapura - Mihintale - Kandalama (B/L/D)

Morning exploring the Sacred City of Anuradhapura, served as Sri Lanka’s first capital for nearly 1,300 years, ruled by more than 100 kings. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities globally. The city is considered sacred in Buddhism for housing the Sri Maha Bodhi Tree, believed to be a sapling from the original tree under which the Buddha attained enlightenment. The city flourished as a center of Theravada Buddhism for centuries, attracting pilgrims from all over the world. Visit the Thuparama Dagaba Stupa, Jetavaramaya Stupa and Abhayagiri Stupa in the ancient city. Afternoon visit Mihintale is a sacred mountain peak in Sri Lanka, believed to be the site where Buddhism began on the island over 2230 years ago.

Day 09: Kandalama - Sigiriya Rock - Dalada Maligawa - Kandy (B/L/D)

Morning depart to visit the Sigiriya rock fortress, which is Sri Lanka’s most iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site, built by King Kashyapa in the 5th century. The ”Lion Rock” is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 meters from the scrub jungle. A moat, rampart, and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens ring the base of the rock and enjoy the world-renowned frescoes of the ”Heavenly Maidens”.

Drive to Kandy. Visit Dalada Maligawa, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a world-renowned place of worship, where the left tooth of Gautama Buddha is enshrined. The temple which is venerated by thousands of local & foreign devotees and tourists daily was named as a world heritage by UNESCO in 1988.

Day 10: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya (B/L/D)

Today drive to Nuwara Eliya, a picturesque journey packed with beautiful waterfalls, tea plantations, and picturesque mountain ranges. Nearing Nuwara Eliya, you’ll find yourself enveloped in its cool, crisp climate – a stark contrast to the tropical warmth you’ve left behind. Standing at 6,200 feet above sea level, this cool climate makes it the perfect environment for tea cultivation, earning it the title of the Hill Country’s “tea capital,” a title that endures. Along the way, you’ll be escorted to a tea plantation, where the world’s best Ceylon Tea is produced. Upon arriving in Nuwara Eliya, you’ll sense a faint British country village ambiance with its colonial-era bungalows, Tudor-style hotels, well-kept hedgerows, and charming gardens. Once colonized by the British and often referred to as “Little England,” Nuwara Eliya maintains its old-world charm. A special night at Heritance Tea Factory resort, combines old-world charm with modern comforts, providing an ultimate colonial-style stay experience amidst tea plantations and misty mountains.

Day 11: Nuwara Eliya (Scenic Train) - Ella - Galle (B/L/D)

After immersing yourself in the natural wonders of Nuwara Eliya, your journey continues to take the train from Nuwara Eliya (Nanu Oya) to Ella is considered one of the world’s most scenic rail journeys, offering breathtaking views of tea plantations, mist-covered mountains, waterfalls, and, notably, the Nine Arch Bridge. The roughly 30 minutes journey provides a relaxed, slow-paced, and affordable way to experience the heart of Sri Lanka’s highlands. The route features stunning, panoramic views of lush green tea estates, dramatic gorges, and rustic, small villages.

Drive to Galle, a port city steeped in history with its well-preserved Dutch Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The main attraction of Galle no doubt is its ancient Galle Fort, which instantaneously takes visitors back to the Dutch Colonial era. Walking through the narrow streets of the fort, you’ll encounter an array of heritage buildings, including Dutch churches, grand mansions, museums, and historic mosques. Enjoy the afternoon at your hotel at Unawatuna Beach is a crescent-shaped cove known for its golden sands and calm waters, making it ideal for swimming and snorkeling.

Day 12: Galle - Colombo (B/L/D)

Morning departs to Colombo. En route visit Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery. The center functions mainly as a hatchery and makes huge efforts to increase the rate of hatching, and survival of baby turtles in their very initial stages. In the afternoon, drive along the clean streets edging with lavish clothing, food & tea boutiques. Head along Bauddhaloka Mawatha towards ‘Arcade’ facing a historic way post, the Independence Square, Old parliament building. Smell the scent of incense while listening to the chiming bells of Gangarama temple.

Day 13: Colombo - LAX (B)

Enjoy your own time until transfer to the airport.

The following terms apply to all AV Travel tour reservations. By making a reservation or submitting payment, travelers acknowledge that they have read and agree to AV Travel’s full Terms & Conditions.

Tour Itinerary & Pricing

  • Tour itineraries are subject to modification due to weather conditions, safety considerations, operational requirements, or changes in destination operating hours.
  • AV Travel reserves the right to substitute accommodations, transportation, or sightseeing arrangements when necessary. 
  • Tour prices are subject to change and can only be guaranteed once a deposit has been received and confirmed by AV Travel.

Deposit & Payment Policy

  • A deposit of $300 per person, plus any applicable airfare ticket issuance fee, is required at the time of reservation to secure your booking.
  • The remaining balance must be paid no later than 60 days prior to the tour departure date.
  • Failure to complete payment by the deadline may result in cancellation of the reservation and the deposit will be forfeited.
  • Reservations made within 60 days of the departure date require full payment at the time of booking.

Cancellation Policy

  • Deposits and payments are subject to AV Travel’s official Cancellation & Refund Policy as outlined in the full Terms & Conditions.
  • Certain tour departures, including peak travel periods or special events, may have non-refundable deposits and payments.
  • Airline tickets, visa fees, and processing charges may be non-refundable or subject to airline penalties.

Tour Price Exclusions

The published tour fare does not include the following items:

  • gratuities for tour guides and drivers
  • hotel porterage services
  • personal expenses (laundry, telephone calls, minibar, etc.)
  • optional sightseeing or activities not listed in the itinerary
  • travel insurance
  • visa fees or documentation processing fees where applicable

Travel Documents

  • All travelers must possess a valid passport that remains valid for at least six (6) months beyond the return date of the tour.
  • Some countries require two to four blank visa or entry stamp pages in the passport.
  • Certain airlines may deny boarding if passport validity or page requirements are not met.
  • It is the traveler’s sole responsibility to obtain and present valid travel documentation.
  • Non-U.S. citizens should verify visa requirements with the appropriate embassy or consulate prior to travel.

Travel Insurance

  • Travel insurance is strongly recommended to protect your travel investment.
  • Coverage may include trip cancellation, trip interruption, travel delays, baggage loss, and medical emergencies.

Travel Risk Acknowledgment
