Mongolia, an East Asian country known for its nomadic traditions and history, including the founding of the Mongol Empire by Genghis Khan in 1206, was the largest empire in history and is a significant part of Mongolia’s past. 

Visiting Xinjiang for its stunning and diverse natural landscapes, including deserts, mountains, and alpine lakes, as well as its rich and unique cultural heritage and its various ethnic groups.

Day 01: Depart From Los Angeles Airport In The Evening.

Day 03: ARRIVE ULAANBAATAR, CAPITAL OF MONGOLIA. (D)

Ulaanbaatar, the vibrant heart of Mongolia, where ancient traditions meet contemporary life. More than just the nation’s political and economic hub, this captivating city invites you to experience a unique blend of historic heritage and urban energy. As the central junction of Mongolia’s transport network, Ulaanbaatar offers seamless rail connections to countries across the globe, making it the perfect starting point for your Mongolian adventure. Afternoon visit the iconic State Department store, more than just a shopping center, it’s a living monument to the city’s history. For authentic souvenirs, head to the upper floors where you’ll find luxurious Gobi cashmere, handcrafted felt items, and Mongolian artwork, while other levels offer a range of local and international brands. The ground floor features a supermarket stocked with local snacks, Mongolian vodka.

Day 04: ULAANBAATAR - SUKHBAATAR SQUARE - CHINGGIS KHAAN NATIONAL MUSEUM - ETHNIC DANCE. (B/L/D)

After your gourmet breakfast at the hotel, start your journey with visit Sukhbaatar Square (also known as Chinggis Khaan Square). Take a leisurely stroll here and admire the impressive Damdin Sükhbaatar Statue, the State Palace, the Chinggis Khaan Monument, and the vibrant surroundings that make this square the city’s activity hub. Later visit Genghis Khan National Museum, has more than 10,000 original exhibits ranging from exhibits of Modun Shanyu, the founder of the first nomadic state to the artifacts the activities of the kings and nobles of the Mongolian states, from Modun Shanyu, the founder of the Hun Empire, the first nomadic state, to the beginning of the 20th century.

In the afternoon, visit the Gandantegchinlin Monastery, which is a Tibetan-style Buddhist monastery. Its name, derived from Tibetan, can be translated as “Great site full of Joy.” Currently, several hundred monks reside at this monastery. You will also have the opportunity to appreciate a performance of Mongolian ethnic song and dance, allowing you to truly experience the genuine and vibrant character of the Mongolian people, often referred to as the “Singing Ethnicity” and the “Musical Ethnicity.”

Day 05: ULAANBAATAR - TERELJ NATIONAL PARK - GER CAMP & RESORT. (B/L/D)

After concluding your delicious breakfast. Depart to visit Terelj National Park, a stunning natural reserve renowned for its unique rock formations and tranquil beauty. Explore the Meditation Temple and the iconic Turtle Rock. The Aryabal Temple of Meditation, situated atop a hill, provides a serene environment and panoramic views of the park. Engage in a visit with a nomadic family to gain insight into the life and customs of Mongolian herders. The host family will graciously welcome you with traditional Mongolian delicacies, including milk tea, dairy products, and Mongolian liquor. Additionally, enjoy horse riding within the National Park.

Day 06: GIANT CHIGGIS STATUE COMPLEX - ZAISAN HILL MONUMENT - ULAANBAATAR. (B/L/D)

Morning departs to visit the Giant Chinggis Statue Complex, home to the world’s tallest equestrian statue. Upon arrival, explore the statue complex, including its museum and viewing platform. Climb up to the platform in the horse’s head, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Back in Ulaanbaatar, visit the Bogd Khaan Palace Museum, once the winter residence of a 1900s Mongolian emperor, is now a museum showcasing thousands of historical artifacts. This ornate complex includes six temples with Buddhist artwork and thangka art. Visitors can explore the personal belongings of the last Bogd Khaan, such as his throne, bed, art collection, ceremonial ger (yurt), and jewelry.

Day 07: ULAANBAATAR (MONGOLIA) - URUMQI (XINJIANG). (B)

After your full breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for your connecting flight to Urumqi, is the capital of Xinjiang, nestled in the heart of the Tian Shan Mountains. Historically a major Silk Road hub, today it is known for its vibrant cultural landscape blending Uyghur and Han Chinese influences, its unique cuisine, and attractions such as the Tianshan Heavenly lake and the International Grand Bazaar.

Day 08: URUMQI - HEAVENLY LAKE of TIANCHI - INTERNATIONAL GRAND BAZAAR - URUMQI. (B/L/D)

Once you have finished your gourmet breakfast, head to the stunning Heavenly Lake of Tianchi, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and dense forests. Take in the breathtaking views and fresh air while strolling around the lake. In the afternoon, visit the International Grand Bazaar—a bustling market where you can experience local Uyghur culture, shop for traditional crafts, and taste delicious snacks.

Day 09: URUMQI - TUYOQ VILLAGE - TURPAN. (B/L/D)

Morning depart to Turpan to explore the ancient Tuyoq Village, known for its historical significance and beautiful vineyard landscapes. Tuyoq Mazha Village safeguards a wealth of traditional Uyghur architectures. This place is also famous for their striking red sandstone hills and connection to the classic novel Journey to the West.

Day 10: TURPAN - JIAOHE ANCIENT CITY - GRAPE VALLEY - URUMQI. (B/L/D)

Begin your day at the remarkable Jiaohe Ancient City is renowned as the most complete city ruins in China and the biggest, oldest and best-preserved earth constructed city, and “the most perfect ruin of earth building” in the world, a UNESCO World Heritage site with more than 2,000 years of history. Then visit the ingenious Karez Well System – an underground irrigation network that showcases human ingenuity in the desert. Enjoy a relaxing walk through the shaded Grape Valley and taste some of the sweetest grapes in China. Return to Urumqi in the evening.

Day 11: URUMQI - YINING - SAYRAM LAKE. (B/L/D)

After a gourmet breakfast, board a scenic flight to the picturesque city of Yining. From there, your journey continues to the magnificent Sayram Lake – an alpine jewel nestled high in the Tianshan Mountains. As one of the highest and purest lakes in Xinjiang, its turquoise-blue waters and sweeping grasslands create a scene of untouched serenity. Stroll along the shore, breathe in the crisp mountain air, and lose yourself in the breathtaking harmony of water, meadow, and sky – a perfect moment of peace and natural wonder.

Day 12: YINING - NARLGA VALLEY GRASSLAND. (B/L/D)

After your full breakfast at the hotel. We embark on a scenic drive to the breathtaking Narlga Valley Grassland, cradled at the foot of the majestic Tianshan Mountains. Here, the Gongnais River meanders through lush, emerald meadows, creating a picture-perfect landscape of harmony and tranquility.

Day 13: YINING - URUMQI. (B/L/D)

Morning we ascend to the magnificent Narlga Aerial Grassland. Perched at high altitude, this vast meadow unfolds beneath endless blue skies, offering breathtaking panoramic views where emerald pastures meet eternal snow-capped peaks.

In summer, the grassland transforms into a natural tapestry of wildflowers, creating a photographer’s paradise. Every direction offers a picture-perfect moment – grazing horses roaming freely, rolling hills under soft sunlight, and the pure, untouched beauty of Xinjiang’s most iconic landscape.

Terms & Agreements

Itinerary and Reservation:

  • The itinerary is subject to change due to weather conditions or the destinations’ hours of operation
  • A deposit of $300 per person and the flight ticket issuance fee must be paid upon reservation 
  • Tour prices can only be guaranteed after travelers deposit.
  • The balance amount must be paid at least 60 days prior to the departure date. Failure to do so will lead to the cancellation of your reservation and your deposit will not be refunded
  • If a reservation is made within 60 days prior to the departure date, a full payment is required.
  • The tour fare does not include: Gratuity to driver & tour guide, porterage at hotels & personal expense, travel insurance

Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • Deposit: For tours departing in June, July, August and December or during special events and holidays, deposits are non-refundable. All other tours are subject to a service charge equal to 50% of the total deposit fee as well as any airline penalties if a cancellation is made 60 days or more before the tour departure date. Deposits are non-refundable for any cancellations made within 60 days or less before the tour departure date.
  • Final Payment: For tours departing in June, July, August and December or during special events and holidays, final payments are non-refundable. Final payment is due 60 days prior to the tour departure date. Cancellations made 60 days or more prior to the departure date is subject to a 50% service charge of the total tour package fee. There are no refunds for cancellations made less than 30 days prior the tour departure date.
  • Visa and Processing Fees: Visa and processing fees are non-refundable.

Travel documents:

  • U.S. citizens are required to have a passport for all trips outside of the U.S., which must be valid for at least six months beyond the completion date of the tour. Entry laws differ with respect to travelers’ citizenship.
  • It is the responsibility of the travelers to submit valid and proper travel documentation. Non-U.S. citizens should check for visa requirements.
  • Each participant is responsible for any expenses incurred because of delays or itinerary changes related to his/her lack of appropriate travel documents and are ineligible for any refund from AV Travel should these circumstances arise.
  • For more information on countries requiring visas for U.S. citizens and non-U.S citizens, please refer to the U.S. Department of State website: www.travel.state.gov.
  • Some countries require that your passport has two to four blank visa/stamp pages. Some airlines will not allow you to board if this requirement is not met.

  • AV Travel reserves the right to modify the tour itinerary and/or schedule, including canceling a tour departure in accordance to its tour operating policy and requirements.
  • If a tour is cancelled prior to the departure date by AV Travel, the company’s only obligation is to refund the amount received from each participant of the specified tour.
  • AV Travel acts only as an agent for the suppliers of transportation, accommodations, meals and other services provided to the tour participants. Neither AV Travel or its agents assume responsibility for death, personal injury, property damage and loss, or delays incurred by any person in connection with the tour or by result of any event beyond its control, including neglect, strike, war, terrorism, hostility, civil disturbance, and/or any acts of God.
