In the last post, we’ve had the privilege to introduce you to a little bit of history, architectural, and cultural life of people of the Czech Republic and its capital Prague. Today, let’s travel a bit outside of the capital and explore other fun amazing towns, parks, beautiful lakes and churches.
1. Lake Šumava
Lake Šumava is located in the western part of the Czech Republic, in the Šumava mountain range. This is the largest lake in the Czech Republic, with an area of about 44 km2. Lake Šumava is also known as a popular destination for couples looking for peace and romance.
2. Národní Park
Located in the northwest of the Czech Republic, Národní Park is a perfect destination for those who love fresh air and wilderness. Here, tourists can enjoy the beautiful scenery of waterfalls and trails on the mountain top.
3. Santini Church in Zelena Hora
The Santini Church is a unique architectural building located in Zelena Hora. Built in the late 17th century by architect Jan Blazej Santini, the Santini Church is considered one of the most unique and beautiful architectural buildings in the Czech Republic. With impressive and unique architecture, this church was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1994.
4. Town of Třeboň
The town of Třeboň is located in the south of the Czech Republic and is an ideal destination for those who want to experience the life of the local people and learn about the local culture and history. Třeboň is also famous for its lakes, ponds, canals, and is the place where traditional Czech fish sauce is produced.
5. Český Krumlov
This is a town in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic with a population of about 12,000 inhabitants. It is known as a tourist center, which is among the most visited places in the country. The historic center with the Český Krumlov Castle complex is protected by law as an urban monument reservation and has been a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its well-preserved Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture.
