The Mount Rushmore National Memorial Park in Keystone, South Dakota, features the famous mountain sculpture of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. Tour and marvel at the 60-foot high faces of the four presidents high above the 5,725-foot mountain, is a monumental granite sculpture by Gutzon Borglum. (B/D)

Just across the South Dakota border in Wyoming, visit Devils Tower National Monument, a unique and striking geologic wonder steeped in Native American legend. The Tower is a solitary, stump-shaped granite formation that looms 1,267 feet above the tree-lined Belle Fourche River Valley, like a skyscraper in the country. The Tower is an astounding geologic feature that protrudes out of the prairie surrounding the Black Hills. It is considered sacred by Northern Plains Indians and indigenous people. Hundreds of parallel cracks make it one of the finest crack climbing areas in North America. Devils Tower entices us to learn more, explore more and define our place in the natural and cultural world.

Continue our journey to drive to Cody, Wyoming. Visit the world-famous Buffalo Bill Historical Center known for its Wild West exhibits, is a complex of five museums and a research library featuring art and artifacts of the American West.

Visit Buffalo Bill Dam is a concrete arch-gravity dam on the Shoshone River in the U.S. state of Wyoming. It is named after the famous Wild West figure William “Buffalo Bill” Cody, who founded the nearby town of Cody and owned much of the land now covered by the reservoir formed by its construction. Visit Yellowstone National Park, the first and oldest National Park in the United States, the world’s most famous National Park and our country’s largest nature reserve.
