Day 01

Check in at Los Angeles Airport (LAX) or an airport at your convenience. Depart for Auckland, New Zealand. A English-speaking AV Travel tour leader will guide and escort traveler(s) throughout the trip.

Day 02

Fly across the Pacific Ocean.

Day 03

Arrive in Auckland (also known as “the City of Sails“). It is New Zealand’s center of commerce and industry. Tour the city center, along Karangahape Road with its chequered past & eclectic vibe, past fashionable Ponsonby & over the Auckland Harbour bridge, enjoying views of the Hauraki Gulf & city skyline. Visit the Viaduct Harbour & Auckland’s famous Queen street before continuing to the Auckland Domain – the city’s oldest park, situated on a 62,000-year-old volcano with fabulous views of the harbor. Day 04

Depart Auckland and travel through the Waikato region, known for its Waitomo Caves. Enjoy a guided tour through this world-famous cave formation. Guided since the late 1880s, this is the original, iconic New Zealand attraction. You will be amazed by a sea of starry lights created by millions of glow worms. They hunt for prey by using their alluring blue glow and a long thread of sticky web.

Departing Waitomo, relax on board the coach to Taupo. Lake Taupo is the largest lake in the Southern Hemisphere at 619 sq kilometres & lies in a series of volcanic craters. Highlights include the Aratiatia Rapids when at mid-day, the gates of this dam on the Waikato River are opened and provide a spectacular view of rapids filling the valley and the famous Huka Falls, another of the wonders of the Waikato River. Day 05

Drive to Rotoura. Visit Te Puia – the New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute, home of the world famous Pohutu geyser. See Maori carving, flax garment making and a life-size replica of a traditional Maori village.

En route to Auckland, stop at Rainbow Springs Nature Park. Explore the amazing wildlife that this park has to offer. Set amongst the native trees and beautiful forests of Rotorua, the park will bring you fun and educational experience.

While we’re in Auckland, visit the Sky Tower, an observation and telecommunications tower at a height of 328 m (1,076 ft). It is the tallest freestanding structure in the Southern Hemisphere. (B/L/D)

Day 06

Travel along Rotorua’s lakeside area to the beautiful Government Gardens, past Rotorua’s Tudor Towers alongside the geothermal steam pools – famous for their therapeutic qualities. Drive to Matamata, Enjoy a guided tour of a visit to Hobbiton Movie set, where you can step into the lush pastures of the Shire, as featured in The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit trilogies. Day 07

Venture to Melbourne, the heart of Australia’s classic south. Melbourne has compelling appeals in its gardens, its history, its character and its charm. Visit Queen Victoria Market. The vibrant, cosmopolitan atmosphere of this historic site has endeared the Market to Melbourne for 130 years. (L/D)

Day 08

Drive to the Dandenong Ranges, which offer some of the most magnificent countryside in Victoria. Recapture the romance and charm of the bygone days of steam as you enjoy a ride on Puffing Billy. Built in 1900, Puffing Billy is Australia’s oldest steam railway. Continue to Westernport Bay – water birds and mangroves & Philip Island Nature Park – a natural home for Koalas, Seals & little Penguins. (B/L/D)

Day 09

Take a ride through nature on the spectacular Great Ocean Road, which winds alongside the wild and windswept Southern Ocean. This diverse and dramatic region takes in surf beaches, historic ports, whale lookouts, breathtaking mountain ranges, rainforests and national parks. Witness the rugged splendor of the famous Twelve Apostles, magnificent rock stacks that rise up majestically from the Southern Ocean on Victoria’s dramatic coastline. (B/L/D)

Day 10

Flight from Melbourne to Cairns. Cairns is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef in Far North Queensland. Visit the St.Monica’s Cathedral, step inside one of the most breathtaking cathedrals in all of Australia, featuring the World’s largest themed stained glass windows.

Partake in Cairns Night Markets, the perfect place to grab dinner and hunt for a bargain. Whatever you are into, the Cairns Night Market will surely to have something that grabs your attention. Opals, pearls, silver, clothing, arts, crafts, Australian food products, plenty of souvenirs and gifts, just to name a few. (B/D)

Day 11

The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park – a premier world heritage site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. It is the largest reef in the world and consists of nearly 3000 individual reefs, 880 islands and hundreds and thousands of different plant, bird and marine species. Enjoy a relaxing exploration of the Outer Great Barrier Reef with a Semi-Submersible & Glass Bottom Boat tour. Underwater reef viewing observatory. Fish feeding & identification session with Great Adventure cruise. (B/L/D)

Day 12

Flight from Cairns to Sydney. Sydney, the fast-paced city of cosmopolitan character is one of the world’s most beautiful places. Enjoy the dinner cruise & show in the famous Show Boat & watch Sydney light up. Take the photo opportunities of floodlit Sydney Harbour icons in the evening. (B/L/D)

Day 13

Have a whole day to explore Sydney. Visit the Spectacular Darling Harbour, Sydney Entertainment Center, The Rock’s. Drive to Bondi Beach, passing through the affluent eastern suburbs. Visit Milson’s Point for the best possible photo opportunity of the Sydney Opera House, view the beautiful Middle Harbour area and Spit Bridge from Seaforth Lookout. Continue to visit the Royal Botanic Gardens, is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful settings you will see anywhere, with the gardens filling an area of land between the harbor and the eastern part of the central business district. Visit the Vietnamese town at Cabramatta – the Little Saigon In Sydney. (B/D)

Day 14

Depart for the Blue Mountains. Stop by Echo Point to see the Three Sisters rock formation towering over Jamison Valley. There will also be magnificent views over Megalong Valley as we follow the scenic Cliff Drive. continues with a walk on the valley floor boardwalk under a canopy of tall tree ferns & get breathtaking views of the Grose Valley from Govetts Leap. There will also be a tour through mountain towns of Medlow Bath and Mt. Victoria. Wonder at the ruggedness of the Blue Mountains from Bells Line.
